Fall Journey Group Retreat

This fall all Journey Group students and their leaders will be kicking off their Journey Groups with a retreat. This weekend is a time of connecting with God, your Journey Groups, and having a great time and is required of all students registering for a Journey Group in 2010-2011. If you register before September 22nd, the price is $80 per person, and $90 after that date. You can pick up a registration form from the Hub, your team rooms or download an application from the sidebar.

Journey Groups are small, same-gender groups designed for deeper spiritual exploration and relational community. Each Journey Group includes 6 students, an apprentice student leader and an adult leader. Journey Groups for 7-9 graders meet immediately after Echo services, from 8-9 pm on Wednesday nights. Journey Groups for 10-12 graders happen during Sunday night House Groups. All groups kick off the year at the Journey Group Retreat in October.

In addition to the Wednesday night gathering for 7-12 graders, high school students are invited to participate in House Group, a gathering specifically designed for 10-12 grade students. We meet weekly during the school year on Sunday nights from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Our time together is spent looking deeper into God’s Story, sharing in discussion and prayer and enjoying one another’s company.

You can pick up an registration from your team rooms, the Hub, or download one the link on the left side of this page! For returning students, you can re-register for journey groups by registering for the Fall Retreat (see above).

LAKEFEST

Lakefest is coming! Come help us celebrate the end of the summer! We’ll be meeting at the Hub after church on August 22nd at 2 pm to carpool, then heading to the Armas home in Lino Lakes. We’ll have plenty of food, games and fun! Bring your swimming gear (swimsuit and towel), lawn chairs, and $5. We’ll let you know when we have more info!

If you don’t want to carpool, you can arrive at the Armas home around 2:30 pm and their address is:

2010 Summer Retreat info

You need at be at Woodland Hills church in the north commons area at 4:00pm on FRIDAY. We will be leaving at 4:30pm. Please call if you think you are going to be running late so we are informed. We will be arriving back at church at aprox. 6pm on SUNDAY.

BBQ Fundraiser

Come on out and help support the emerging generation on our trip to West Virginia. June 12^th and June 13^th after church service, there will be the best BBQ of your life. This is a great time to have fun with the family and have a delicious picnic lunch. The cost will be $5 for a meal or $20 for a family. We appreciate all your support and prayers.

We’ll be heading up to Camp JIM for a weekend of learning about friendship and God’s invitation to partner with him. We’ll build relationships as we explore God’s story together. On the lake, we’ll enjoy the camp’s 90-foot water slide, canoeing, paddle boating, and swimming, and we’ll introduce a new large group game that will surely become a classic! Forms are available at your team room and at the Hub. Dates are June 4-6. Registration is $90 and closes on May 26. Call Natalie with questions at 651-287-3014.

Reveal Cancelled

After much deliberation, and much to our dismay, we have decided to cancel Reveal this weekend.
We had very few students signed up, and not enough adult volunteer support. Also one of our work sites fell through. We hope to put our energies towards this summer’s events and make those all they can be!

Reveal: Earth - April 24

Join us from 10-4 on Saturday, April 24 as we learn about the brokenness surrounding the ways that humans have cared for the earth and for our food systems.

Reveal: Earth is an experience designed to awaken us to our calling to partner with God in caring for creation and for one another. We will spend the morning learning about these things through media and interactive experiences. After lunch we will head out to various service learning projects centered around the day’s theme.

The cost of this event is $10. That includes lunch! Pick up a registration form at your team room or at the Hub.

The West Virginia trip application (open to students entering 10-12 grades) is due on April 18th with a $50 deposit.
